Based in Ukiha, Fukuoka, Takeshi Omura’s path into ceramics began with a profound encounter with the work of potter Keisuke Iwata. This inspiration led him to apprentice under Iwata for a year, followed by formal studies at Tajimi City Tajimi High School of Technology, where he specialized in Ceramic Chemistry and Art.
After graduating in 2000, he refined his craft at Studio Mavo, a creative hub in Tajimi managed by Masanobu Ando. In 2007, he returned to his roots in Ukiha to establish his own studio. Today, he continues to create works that explore the unique dialogue between the visual austerity of metal and the tactile warmth of clay
